2010 Year of the Spider-Man

Marvel has been dropping teaser images in "SIEGE" fashion with the tagline that 2010 would be the Year of the Spider-Man. Seen the house of ideas decided on a jigsaw puzzle them I was going to wait until all of the images were released and drop them on here, but impatience got the better of me. Let's take a look at the images.

In the first image we got a collection of spider themed heroes. (from left to right) The Iron Spider is in the house, Araña the Spider Girl, and Black Spidey (Former Scorpion Mac Gargan maybe?)

This image has good óle Pete Parker in the foreground reaching out for something. the background shows him locking lips with someone that appears to be Mary Jane and just above his head in the back is that one of Dr. Octopus' arm?

the most recent pictures has the Lizard and the new Kraven so once the last image is released I will definitely have it up and the final image as well

Images from Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths

Warner Bros. sends over a few news images for their upcoming Justice League: Crisis On Two Earths animated feature. Check them out below in our GALLERY.

In a parallel Earth ruled by the Crime Syndicate, the Justice League must fight their evil doppelgangers in a battle that would be dead even, except that their malicious counterparts are willing to do the one thing Batman and Superman never would: kill.

Look for it on Blu-ray and DVD on February 12, 2010.

Looks to be another great animated film that DC and Warner Bros. can take a step up over Marvel, I've have enjoyed the animated features that they have released with the exception of Superman/Doomsday but other than that I applaud you DC

The Phantom on SyFy

Looks like they are trying to update the Phantom for a younger generation, the trailer for the TV series doesn't look half bad. They are trying to get rid of that tight @$$ spandex outfit. Not sure the redesign works all the way either, you catch a few glimpses of it seems more like a purple Gangbuster costume. For some info on the series peep after the trailer.

The Phantom is an upcoming TV-series based on Lee Falk's The Phantom, set to air on SyFy in 2010. It stars Ryan Carnes as Kit Walker/The Phantom, Cameron Goodman as Renny, Cas Anvar as Rhatib Singh, Sandrine Holt as Guran, and Isabella Rossellini as Dr. Bella Lithia. It is written by Daniel Knauf and Charles Knauf.

On July 29, 2008, screenwriter Daniel Knauf announced he and his son and collaborator Charles Knauf had completed a four-hour TV-movie script for SCI FI Channel, later re-named SyFy, starring the 22nd Phantom. On March 23, 2009, Sci Fi Channel announced that they have formally ordered a 4-hour mini-series in two parts, which will also serve as a backdoor pilot. The mini-series is scheduled to air in 2010, and is produced by Muse Entertainment and RHI Entertainment.

Ryan Carnes has been cast as Kit Walker, the new Phantom. Cas Anvar plays Rhatib Singh, head of the Singh Brotherhood, Isabella Rossellini plays the villainous Lithia, and Sandrine Holt has been cast as Guran. Cameron Goodman will play the Phantom's love interest, Rennie. Paolo Barzman will direct. The series is shot in New York, Costa Rica and Montreal.

The story sees law student Chris learning that he was adopted, and that he is actually the son of the Phantom. He joins the Phantom team in the jungles of Bengalla, and is trained in martial arts and combat, emerging as the next Phantom to battle the trained assassins of the Singh Brotherhood. The Phantom costume has been heavily modified for the screen.

Getting his X-Men one way or the other

Well one good thing may have come out of James Cameron's Avatar, at its premiere in Los Angeles tonight, and MySpace had a television crew on-hand at the "blue carpet" to interview arrivals.

One of the people there was director Bryan Singer, who directed X-Men and X2: X-Men United for Avatar distributor 20th Century Fox at the start of the decade. In recent interviews, Singer has been asked about possibly directing the planned prequel X-Men: First Class, and he always seemed interested, but earlier this evening he let slip that he has in fact just signed the deal with Fox to direct the next "Origins" film, which will reportedly look at the early days of Cyclops, Jean Grey and others at the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning.

Final Kick Ass Character poster featuring Hit Girl

Here's what should be the final teaser poster for Kick Ass released by Lionsgate. It shows Hit Girl (Chloe Moretz) the foul mouth deadly assassin that happens to be eleven year old Mindy Macready.

A twisted, funny, high-octane adventure, director Matthew Vaughn brings KICK-ASS to the big screen. KICK-ASS tells the story of average teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a comic-book fanboy who decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero. As any good superhero would, he chooses a new name — Kick-Ass — assembles a suit and mask to wear, and gets to work fighting crime. There’s only one problem standing in his way: Kick-Ass has absolutely no superpowers.

His life is forever changed as he inspires a subculture of copy cats, meets up with a pair of crazed vigilantes — including an 11-year-old sword-wielding dynamo, Hit Girl (Chloë Moretz) and herfather, Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage) — and forges a friendship with another fledgling superhero, Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse). But thanks to the scheming of a local mob boss Frank D’Amico (Mark Strong), that new alliance will be put to the test.

KICK-ASS Movie Poster of Big Daddy

Ugo put a high res teaser poster of Nicholas Cage as Big Daddy in the upcoming Matthew Vaughn directed no holds barred superhero flick Kick Ass. Which is based on the comic book of the same name by Mark Millar and John Romita, Jr.

The plot of Kick-Ass concerns a lonely teenage boy, Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), who decides to become a real-life superhero after being inspired by the heroes of comic-books. He soon encounters a mysterious vigilante called Big-Daddy (Nicolas Cage), and his daughter Hit Girl (Chloë Moretz), who are working to bring down the drug baron Frank D'Amico.

The rights to a film version of the comic book were sold before the first issue was published. When the film is released there will be less than twelve issues of the comic in print. The script for the film was reportedly written in May 2008, and filming occurred in late 2008 to early 2009. In an interview with Total Film, Aaron Johnson confirmed that the film will stay true to the adult nature of the comic series by featuring a large amount of profanity and graphic violence and that it had already received an R rating by the MPAA. Yancy Butler (of the television series Witchblade) also appears as Angie D'Amico, Frank's wife and the mother to the Red Mist. This is her first theatrical film since Drop Zone (1994).Filming locations include Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, at Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School.

It was announced on 17/08/09 that the film is going to be released by Lionsgate on April 16, 2010. A screening of the unfinished film was shown at the 11th Butt-Numb-A-Thon film festival on December 13, 2009, where it was received with wild enthusiasm by the event's attendees.

Whiplash for Iron Man 2

From the looks of this somebody has a hard on for Tony Stark. this isn't anything we haven't seen before just in movie poster style. I have heard a lot of complaints regarding Mickey Rourke costume wise as Whiplash but with this being the characters debut it makes since to me that he wouldn't come out fully armored up and it can't be as bad as the Blacklash from the Iron Man animated series on the 1994 Marvel Action hour. So give a go and if its anything like the first movie I think we will be pleasantly surprised.

The Return of Bruce Wayne

Its been a little under two years (or will be once the series debuts) since the supposed death of Bruce Wayne Batman. It wasn't a matter of if he would return it was about when. Well on December 9th (yes I'm a little late) DC the Source announced a new series in April 2010 to be written by Grant Morrison title "The Return of Bruce Wayne". below are some sketches by fan favorite Andy Kubert and after the jump you see what DC has to say of the series.

The World’s Greatest Detective is facing his toughest mystery.

Lost in the timestream, believed to be dead by his friends and enemies alike, Bruce Wayne must use every bit of intelligence, every ounce of strength and training he’s acquired over the years to find his way back to the city, and adopted family of vigilantes, he’d left behind.

Blasted by the mysterious and powerful Omega Effect in the pages of FINAL CRISIS during a deadly battle with the malevolent New God Darkseid, Bruce Wayne must battle back through the waves of time to reclaim what was his – his city, his life…his cowl?

From the kinetic and awe-inspiring imagination of writer Grant Morrison and an all-star cast of artists, including Chris Sprouse, who’ll handle art chores on the first issue, BATMAN: THE RETURN OF BRUCE WAYNE #1 (of 6) hits in April and will prove to be Bruce Wayne’s defining moment as a hero, and his toughest challenge yet.

Its quite an intriguing concept and Grant Morrison can craft a solid story if he concentrates and who doesn't like Elseworld Batman, I must say Pirate Batman is what I look forward to seeing the most. What other incarnations of Batman might we see...does the Dark Knight ring a bell to anybody I think a strong possibility of Batman in medieval times.

Buck Rogers remake on the way for 2010

Here's a teaser trailer for the Buck Rogers in the 25th century. a few things about Buck though, its going to be a web series based on the classic sci-fi comic Buck Rogers in the 25th Century.

James Cawley, whose Cawley Entertainment Company had obtained the rights to the character created back in 1928, said he was aiming for a "retro-contemporary" look to the show. But what exactly did that mean? And he also announced that he hoped to release 20 Buck Rogers episodes a year, starting in late in 2010.

Still on the fence about this one I think I'll wait to see more.

Falcon profile, Super Hero Squad

Marvel released another Super Hero Squad video profile this time of Falcon. Its time to Hero Up!

The reason I have a PS3

The sole reason I bought a playstation 3 is because DC Universe Online is to be exclusive to it and now, once the game hits I have found my training partner. Nightwing has been announced officially check the press release below.

Official Press Release

What happens when Dick Grayson, The Boy Wonder, becomes a man and decides to leave his mentor to take on new adventures? He takes on the name Nightwing and joins forces with the Teen Titans against criminals of the night. Second only to those of Batman, Nightwing's fighting skills and detective abilities are a definite advantage for a hero who also has gas pellets, smoke capsules, and an acetylene torch.

Wearing a bulletproof and fire-resistant costume that is wired with a single-shot taser, Nightwing can easily incapacitate any attacker. His weapons of choice to combat foes, including the H.I.V.E. (Hierarchy of International Vengeance and Extermination), are twin, shatterproof-polymer Escrima sticks. Keep in mind that you get to play alongside or against Nightwing in DC Universe™ Online, so choose your own armaments wisely.

and just to add a little side note I don't think it was a good idea to have Nightwing become the new Batman, it took him years to discover his own identity and get from under his mentors shadow and once he came into his own it was decided to make him Batman...bull$#!+
