Lionsgate has put out the final domestic redband trailer for Kick-Ass, based on the popular comic series by Mark Millar and John Romita, Jr. Of course, you can watch just any trailer, but in lieu of the movie’s ultra-violent attitude, you can just blow this one up. Or shoot it, stomp it, kick it, cut it, beat it. Whatever your fancy may be.

In a desperate but noble sacrifice, a war-torn officer dons the prototype suit of powered armor being developed at the facility in a last-second gambit to buy time for his soldiers to escape. The episode plays to the strengths of Bones’ impressive ability to represent aerial and mecha-style combat.

Marvel let loose a second teaser image showcasing the heroic age.The "Heroic Age" is a Marvel Comics storyline scheduled to debut in May 2010, and set to follow the end of the "Siege" storylline, which itself was a culmination of the earlier storylines "Civil War", "Secret Invasion", and "Dark Reign"
The storyline is set to begin in May 2010, in Avengers #1, which will reunite Iron Man, Captain America and Thor as teammates.
Marvel publisher Dan Buckley has said it will be more constrained in its scope than previous storylines:
"We're trying to get a little bit more into the families of publishing, not as line-wide, to provide people with very digestible beginning, middle and end content with top characters and top creators in conjunction with the Marvel Universe. ... It's not going across the line in the books. You’ll see that with the X-Men books, you'll see it with Spider-Man.

Marvel gives us another teaser image adding the God of Thunder to the Avengers roster. Now you got Thor rounding out your holy trinity of Avengers to also include Cap, and Iron Man. It really was no surprise considering that Siege is supposed to be returned of The Avengers to the Heroic Age.
We talked yesterday how director Joe Johnston of the new The First Avenger: Captain America was asked about the casting and production of the new movie.
Well, today it would seem that Johnston was making the rounds with the press junkets and a lot of these questions came about but the main bombshell that Johnston dropped was the main villian of the new movie will be the Red Skull.

Mike Fleming of Deadline Hollywood is reporting that the next action super hero movie to get a remake/reboot is none other than Daredevil.
Regency is mounting the remake with Peter Chernin producing. Writing the redo is screenwriter David Scarpa, which will distribute Daredevil 2.0 or whatever it's going to be called.
Looks like Clint Barton makes a return to the Avengers in his old school costume as Hawkeye, how do i know b/c there is no way in hell Cap would rotate on the same team as the assassin Bullseye even if he was decked out in Hawkeye garb. With Clint express he has no fear of failure what do you have left after you have died twice.
This movie is shaping up to be quite a contender. I'm a big fan of the show, only skepticism i have is whether they can pull off the effects as well as portrayed in the animated series. SSEEEEGA!!!!!! all i have to say is that i hope this second installment of the iron man video game is better than the first, yeah the graphics looked good but the gameplay was ridiculously awful to follow a major block buster movie. The multi-platform title is slated to come out in 2010 along with the Marvel Studios film of the same name, a sequel to the 2008 box office triumph distributed by Paramount Pictures.

DC comics drop this variant cover on their blog leaving little to the imagination in regards to the next threat from the grave to make trouble for the Corp and this is what they had to say about it.
First the Black Lantern Corps rose from the Crypt on Oa decimating the planet and many Lanterns in their horrific path.
Then Kyle Rayner’s brush with death and a Black Lantern ring resulted in Guy Gardner being blinded by great rage as he transformed into a Red Lantern killing machine.
All this tragedy and devastation led to the collapse of the Green Lantern Central Power Battery.

Traveling to Coruscant aboard the palatial royal vessel of the beautiful Duchess Satine Kryze of Mandalore, Obi-Wan and Anakin discover a plot to assassinate the powerful political figure before she reaches her destination. As the Jedi and their clones fight to protect the Duchess from a deadly cargo of assassin droids, Anakin discovers that his former Master has a history with the Mandalorian emissary – and that the elder Jedi is not without personal attachments of his own.
“I always wondered what would happen if Obi-Wan had been put in the same position as Anakin – specifically meeting and falling in love with a woman,” says series writer Henry Gilroy. “Would he be able to maintain his vow to the Jedi at the cost of true love? We know how Anakin dealt with this, but how would Obi-Wan fare against the same temptation? I think a lot of people have had relationships that never really got a chance to flourish, and there's always that ‘what if…’ sort of feeling. Even people in healthy, happy relationships ponder their old flames and think about what might have been. I think it really broadens Obi-Wan as a character. He's revealed as a man – someone we relate to because he has romantic feelings like the rest of us, even though he's a Jedi.”
Of course, the vows of the Jedi Order are not taken lightly, and it takes a truly remarkable woman to turn the head and test the heart of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Resolute in her own pacifist ideologies, Satine provides a counterpoint to Obi-Wan’s notions of peace-keeping and conflict resolution.
“Satine’s a formidable woman in all regards – extremely intelligent, incorruptible, passionate and beautiful, with a great devotion to peace. She might come off as stuffy, but that is because she knows she's in a den of wolves and must appear powerful and unshakable,” Gilroy says. “Throughout history, some of the most powerful figures – like Gandhi and Dr. King – were pacifists who literally changed the world by refusing to fight. There's so much fighting in The Clone Wars; when someone is brave enough to speak up to try and stop it, that voice becomes like a light in the darkness, strong and memorable. Satine's resolved to always use peaceful means to end conflicts. The Jedi are peacekeepers, but they carry swords; if they have to use violence to end conflict, they will. That's unacceptable to Satine; she believes that if you bring a weapon to negotiations, you don't want peace. So, she's upset that the Jedi have allowed themselves to be drawn into the war, because it is everything that they are supposed to be against.”
Together, the two consistently challenge one another, each steadfast in their respective beliefs. It is this mutual respect which draws them together, even as their convictions keep them apart.

YOSH! I can;t wait till this hits DVD. DC is bang em out and with a good track record so from the clips I have seen on this it wont disappoint either, and I glad to see Martian Manhunter in his more alien costume. check it out below to see what I'm talking about.

seems like DC Comics is taking a page from Marvel in there unofficial "better late than never" policy and a such a shame to, this series was quite great and completely outdid my expectations. It gave us the return of Barry Allen, an explanation into the speed force, and a sort of Flash united team dynamic, all in opposition of a common foe with awesome if not more powerful ability. For it to be plagued by tardiness just throws off the mystique of it all.
Marvel released this teaser image of the first man outta the gate for the Avengers Rosterand its none other than Captain America but Bucky insead of Steve Rogers. Cap kicks off Avengers #1 and even announced the creative team on the project. Don't' miss the brand new AVENGERS #1, from the superstar creative team of Brian Bendis and John Romita Jr, this May!

Two new interpretations of hell are about to be introduced, both based on one of the most classic: Dante's Inferno. A video game named after Dante Alighieri's 14th Century epic poem, is being released by EA on February 9 simultaneously with Dante's Inferno: An Animated Epic, from top animation studio Film Roman (part of Spartacus: Blood and Sand producer Starz Media). Both follow Dante as he literally takes a journey to hell and back, visiting the nine circles of the inferno in order to save his true love, Beatrice, who has been taken from him by the devil.
Film Roman, a studio known for it's work animating Fox’s The Simpsons and Cartoon Network’s Marvel Superhero Squad (in addition Hellboy Animated and a prequel film in conjunction with EA's 2008 hit game Dead Space), brought together some of the top anime/animation talent in the world to create the film. Different studios including Production IG (Kill Bill animated sequence), Dongwoo (Batman: Gotham Knight), Manglobe (Ergo Proxy, Samurai Champloo), JM Animation (“Avatar: The Last Airbender”) in fact contributed their visions of the nine circles of hell - Limbo, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Anger, Heresy, Violence, Fraud, and Treachery - and the end result is amazing.
By employing a range of animation studios steeped in the anime tradition, Film Roman and EA created a completely unique vision of this epic, with each circle of hell having a distinct look and tone. While this gives it a modern twist, the feature still stays true to the original elements of the poem.
