Sneak Peak Ultimate Avengers Lineup?

Comicvine was kind enough to let us know that Mark Millar has posted a sneak peak for New Ultimates. The penciled cover by Leinil Yu shows what appears to be the Punisher, Black Widow (Fury's wife in the ultimates universe), Nick Fury, Jim Rhodes, Hawkeye and... Rage? Rich Johnston over at Bleeding Cool referred to the big guy as "the new Hulk." I don't know if he's on to something as I try to avoid spoilers and any upcoming information as much as I can. This is actually from issue #9 so...

What do you think of this line up?

A-Team first look

This movie adaptation of the tongue-in-cheek ’80’s action series from director Joe Carnahan (Smokin’ Aces). But if stars Liam Neeson (Col. John “Hannibal” Smith) and Bradley Cooper (Lt. Templeton “Faceman” Peck) have their way, this version will still be muimacho.

“When my agent said, A-Team, I said, ‘oh, please,’” recalls Neeson, who, after the success of Taken and an upcoming role as Zeus in Clash of the Titans, has unexpectedly hit the action hero phase of his career. “Some of these films can be so empty and bland, but this was riveting. Clearly a lot of thought had gone into it and it had a wonderful camaraderie between the guys.”

Filling out the rest of the A-Team’s van are former wrestler Quinton Jackson taking up where Mr. T left off as Sgt. B.A. Baracus and District 9’s Sharlto Copley as Capt. H.M. “Howling Mad” Murdock.

“If this movie works, it’ll have the feeling of older buddy action movies like Lethal Weapon andBeverly Hills Cop,” says Cooper, who spent two months enduring fierce workouts and following a Hugh Jackman-like regimen of dry chicken and rice to buff-up for the role. “It’s always been a dream to do an action movie. I love sports and I love pretending to fight.”

Its seems big plans are in the works for our four favorite ooze slimed reptile ninjas with another bigscreen adaption and small screen CGI series both set to hit in 2012. Hopefully by then they will have put the property to good use keep reading for the official press release

Furthering its mission to provide premium content to its audiences, Nickelodeon--part of MTV Networks, a division of Viacom Inc.--has acquired the global rights to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from The Mirage Group and 4Kids Entertainment, Inc. The acquisition provides Nickelodeon, the world's number-one entertainment brand for kids, global intellectual property rights to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the hit television, film and video game property that has delighted kids around the world for the last 25 years. The aggregate purchase price for the transactions is approximately $60 million.

Nickelodeon also announced plans to develop a new CG-animated television series based on the popular superhero franchise, anticipated to premiere in 2012. Additionally, in partnership with Viacom's Paramount Pictures, a new release of a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles feature film is also planned for 2012. Nickelodeon has also acquired all merchandising rights to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and will continue to work with its original and long-standing toy partner, Playmates Toys, which has been the creative force behind the successful TMNT master toy program over the last two decades.

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shares a comedic sensibility with the Nickelodeon DNA, with added layers of action and fantasy that have kept this property an evergreen favorite with multiple generations of audiences," said Cyma Zarghami, President, Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group. "We are extremely happy to have the opportunity to be able to focus on this property and creatively re-introduce it to a new generation of kids."

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a property that maintains a very passionate global fan base, is rich with opportunity for a tentpole movie, and is exactly the right property for us to work together with Nickelodeon," said Adam Goodman, President, Paramount Pictures.

"Mirage has been the proud keeper of the Turtles' brand since 1984, and in 2009 we celebrated their 25th anniversary with our legions of fans," said Gary Richardson, CEO, Mirage Studios. It first debuted as a successful comic book series and then became a hit animated TV show, a live-action television series, and later spawned four blockbuster theatrical releases. The property also has translated into a significant consumer products business--with DVDs, video games, toys and more--that has generated billions of dollars at retail.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is based on four mutant turtles--trained in the art of Ninjitsu--who battle evil from the New York sewers. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated television series--jointly produced by 4Kids Entertainment and Mirage Studios--will continue to air on "TheCW4Kids" Saturday morning programming block on The CW network through Aug. 31, 2010.

Comic Stash

Today one of the books I picked up was Secret Six #14 kinda like marvels dark reign before there was dark reign. the solicitation reads as follows.

Gail Simone and artist Nicola Scott keep the Secret Six on edge as they conclude “The Depths” arc, with the Six pitted against Artemis, Wonder Woman and the hideous secret being from within the new Devil’s Island.

The series has been one of my top reads since beginning as the Villian's United miniseries it was good then and its great now and continues to be one I look forward to reading. On the cover is Bane who is a recent addition to the team who is very protective of Scandal Savage and by the looks of him somebody hurt her or found his hidden collection of Twilight novels.

Toys R Us Video Game trade in program

I had Halo 2 for X-box lingering around the house so I decided to get rid of it. My first instinct to get rid of used games have always been my local Gamestop but to my surprise I was met with a stern "we don't take those here" from the clerk, asking why would not appease my curiosity because I only got a "we just don't" so what was I to do with a game I haven't played in over a year for a system I no longer own. The answer came from my wife as she asked me "doesn't Toys R Us take trade ins now?" so that as our next destination. Once arriving it was just as the reports said

  • Games will then be scanned and prices will be offered for individual
    titles.
  • Gamers confirm that they want to accept the offer to exchange any, or
all, of the games they brought to the store.
  • Once the transaction is complete, customers receive an activated gift
card equal to the total worth of all games traded.
  • Immediately upon receiving the gift card, customers can purchase any
product from iPods and toys to candy and diapers at any Toys"R"Us or
Babies"R"Us location or online at Toysrus.com.
Once that was done I was free to spend my $3.00 on anything in the store. yeap three bucks. So I give TRU a two big thumbs up for their video game trade in program and I going to dig out my dreamcast.

First Look: Planet Hulk

Marvel.com has release a first look at the box art to Planet Hulk their next animated featured schedule for release February 2010.

But now
the Incredible Hulk crash lands on the distant planet Sakaar, ruled by the tyrannical Red King. Sold into slavery, Hulk becomes the planet's mightiest gladiator—but his new masters get more than they bargained for when he forges a bond of brotherhood with his fellow fighters: crafty insectoid Miek, ruthless rock-man Korg, ex-shadow pirest Hiroim and the noble-born rebel Elloe.

Unlike Earth, the desperate people of Sakaar believe a monster is just what they ne
e
d. But will the Hulk be the one to save their world...or destroy it?

I gotta say Marvel is behind on the animated features, with the Iron Man and Dr. Strange features being pretty much a bust they have lost steam compared to DC cranking out some awesome stuff from Batman: Gotham Knights to Superman/Batman Public Enemies and no sign of loosing momentum, lets hope this will help Marvel pick up speed.
