Red is an upcoming 2010 American action film based on the comic book limited series of the same name created by Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner, and published by the DC Comics imprint Homage. It gives preview to the normal, peaceful life of some retired CIA agents before they return in action, showing how they are still "dangerous".
Bruce's Frank Moses is a former black-ops CIA agent, who is now living a quiet life. That is, until the day a hi-tech assassin shows up intent on killing him. With his identity compromised and the life of the woman he cares for, Sarah, endangered, Frank reassembles his old team in a last ditch effort to survive.
Mary-Louise Parker plays Frank's wife, while Helen Mirren, Morgan Freeman, and John Malkovich are Frank's teammates. Robert Schwentke directs it with the script provided by Erich Hoeber and Jon Hoeber. This action, which still presents some humors, will be distributed by Summit Entertainment in U.S. theaters on October 15.
Superman Homepage has learned that Warner Premiere's next DC Universe animated title Superman/Batman: Apocalypse will hit Blu-ray and DVD on September 28. The movie is based on the second story arc, "The Supergirl from Krypton," from Jeph Loeb and Michael Turner's the "Superman/Batman." So there is no question about whether to pick this up or not. Even though its Superman and Batman taking center stage again and I feel they may be heading towards overkill utilizing only mass marketed characters, but its based off of the story arc drawn by the late great Michael Turner. The third short film, featuring Green Arrow, is included with the upcoming Superman/Batman: Apocalypse with Neal McDonough as the voice of Green Arrow/Oliver Queen. Here is the cover artwork:
It was previously revealed that "Supernatural" brothers Sam and Dean Winchester are bringing their never-ending battle against the forces of Hell to an animated project called "Supernatural The Animation," slated for release at some point in January of next year. Now, we might have an idea of what that project could look like.
Alleged concept art from the "Supernatural" anime has popped up online over at Saouri's Window, showing possible preliminary character sketches of the Winchester boys, played on the CW series by Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. Official or not, it's still pretty wild to see Sam and Dean in illustrated form - really, if there was one currently airing live-action television series begging for an animated translation, it's "Supernatural." (Or "True Blood." Or "Fringe." Really, there are a bunch, but "Supernatural" is still a solid choice!)
According to Anime News, "Supernatural The Animation" is being produced by Japanese studio Madhouse and is co-directed by Shigeyuki Miya and Atsuko Ishizuka. "Supernatural" creator Eric Kripke will provide guidance on the series. The series will be released in two sets of 22 original episodes.
Finally after so many leaked photos, we get a trailer for The Green Hornet. I gotta be honest here, I wasn't thrilled with Seth Rogen being cast as Britt Reid the alter ego to the Green Hornet and this trailer confirms that he may not be the right person for this role, especially when introducing the Green Hornet to this generation, with so many heroes already on the market Seth Rogen does little to make the Hornet stand out and even less to keep him from looking like a 4th rate generic hero instead of someone who went toe to toe with Batman (yes, that did happen!). I still have hope for Jay Chou as Kato, martial arts always wins. Any objections?
Several new actors have joined the cast of The Walking Dead over the past few days. In addition to the recently announced Chandler Riggs as Carl Grimes, actors Linds Edwards and Jim Coleman have also reportedly signed on for roles in the currently shooting AMC adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s survival horror comic book series.
Both Edwards and Coleman are said to be playing new characters Leon Basset and Lambert “Lam” Kendal, respectively. The news was confirmed by Edwards himself in an interview with The Walking Dead Podcast, but the interview has since been pulled at the request of AMC.
Also recently announced was the casting of Emma Bell in the recurring role of a college student who seeks refuge with Rick Grimes and other survivors. Perhaps she’ll play Amy, the young sister to sharpshooter Andrea. In the comics, Andrea began as a mid-20s legal clerk, but the adaptation is adding a few years to the character with the casting of Laurie Holden in the role.
HBO has been imaginative in its marketing of its hit series True Blood, using everything from posters and online “minisodes” to video blogs and comic books. But this latest effort is by far the best.
Behold the video for “Oh Sookie,” Snoop Dogg’s rap tribute to everyone’s favorite psychic waitress, Sookie Stackhouse. The song contains such moving lyrics as, “Come close, baby, I’m the Dogg that don’t bite (woof, woof),” “Come and play on my team/We’ll do it in the daytime/Bill won’t know a thing” and “Bill ain’t for real/He ain’t Tru Blood/Snoop is a G/I smoke true bud.”
Plus, as you can tell from the image above, the video features a troupe of dancing Sookies.
Marvel Knights Animation is proud to announce Black Panther: Who Is The Black Panther?, a twelve-episode, weekly, all-new series debuting on iTunes, Xbox LIVE, Microsoft Zune and PlayStation®Network on June 23rd.
Inspired by the acclaimed graphic novel from respected filmmaker/producer Reginald Hudlin and legendary comic book artist John Romita Jr, Black Panther: Who Is The Black Panther? introduces viewers to the Black Panther, the warrior king of Wakanda, a technologically advanced nation in the heart of Africa. As outside forces conspire to plunder this proud nation, the Black Panther will face his greatest threats as he meets Klaw, the man who murdered his father.
“The positive responses to news of the show have been so overwhelming, it’s great to finally make the Black Panther series available to everyone,” said Hudlin. “Audiences get caught up on many levels – seeing John Romita Jr’s art come to life; the quality of the voice work by an award winning cast; the boldness of the politics, the music and humor. But see it for yourself!”
Romita Jr added, “The reaction by any person, upon viewing footage of a black panther, is universal: Awe. There is no more elegant a creature on the face of the planet. The creation of the character by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, in a turbulent political time, maintained that quality. Reggie Hudlin's updated version follows that and adds an amazing, cinematic flair to it. In my opinion, reading, and now viewing, the Black Panther series is much akin to witnessing a panther in person. Enjoy the elegance of the story, the elegance of the actors, their voices, their words, and....the imagery.”
This exciting series also features the voices of major celebrities including Academy Award-nominee Djimon Hounsou as Black Panther; Jill Scott as Storm, Kerry Washington as Princess Shuri; Alfre Woodard as both Dondi Reese and Queen Mother; Carl Lumbly as Uncle S’Yan; and comics legend Stan Lee in a special role.

I never cared for C.S. Lewis’ Narnia novels, and I wasn’t particularly impressed with the first two installments in the current film series. But I have to admit the just-released trailer for the third adaptation, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, looks pretty good.
Here’s the official synopsis, courtesy of 20th Century Fox, which stepped in after Disney walked away from the franchise:
This time around — Edmund and Lucy Pevensie, along with their pesky cousin Eustace Scrubb — find themselves swallowed into a painting and on to a fantastic Narnian ship headed for the very edges of the world. Joining forces once again with their royal friend Prince Caspian and the warrior mouse Reepicheep, they are whisked away on a mysterious mission to the Lone Islands, and beyond. On this bewitching voyage that will test their hearts and spirits, the trio will face magical Dufflepuds, sinister slave traders, roaring dragons and enchanted merfolk. Only an entirely uncharted journey to Aslan’s Country — a voyage of destiny and transformation for each of those aboard the Dawn Treader — can save Narnia, and all the astonishing creatures in it, from an unfathomable fate.
Directed by Michael Apted, the film stars Georgie Henley, Skandar Keynes, Ben Barnes, Will Poulter, Gary Sweet, Bruce Spence, Arthur Angel, Shane Rangi and Liam Neeson. Voyage of the Dawn Treader opens in 3D and 2D on Dec. 10.
Another international trailer to Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, I'm as stoked about this movie as I was about "Kick Ass" and i know next to nothing about it. I know its based off of a graphic novel put out by Oni Press other than that i can give you the description after the jump.
Scott Pilgrim's life is totally sweet. He's 23 years old, in a rock band, "between jobs," AND dating a cute high school girl. Everything's fantastic until a seriously mind-blowing, dangerously fashionable, rollerblading delivery girl named Ramona Flowers starts cruising through his dreams and sailing by him at parties. Will Scott's awesome life get turned upside-down? Will he have to face Ramona's seven evil ex-boyfriends in battle? Short answer: yes.

DC has been killing it with their DC Universe Original Animated Movies like Green Lantern: First Flight and Wonder Woman, so we've got high hopes for Batman: Under The Red Hood, which is based on a series of comics written by Judd Winick back in 2005 that brought back formerly dead Robin Jason Todd as an imbalanced anti-hero with his sites set on Gotham's criminal underground. Box art for Batman: Under the Red Hood has revealed DC Entertainment's next full-length animated movie which will, again, showcase Batman and Superman.
The film, which comes out on DVD and Blu-ray on July 27th will have a slew of extras including a short film focusing the spotlight on scarred cowboy Jonah Hex, with the special edition DVD boasting a history of Robin and the Blu-ray looking at how Todd got the axe thanks to fans back in the '80s. The film itself will star Batman (Bruce Greenwood), Nightwing (Neil Patrick Harris), Red Hood (Jensen Ackles), The Joker (John DiMaggio) and even Ra's al Ghul (Jason Isaacs) and Black Mask (Wade Willams). It'll be interesting to see how a straight-up adaptation of a somewhat controversial Batman story will go!
Several eagle-eyed comic fans have spotted the title of DC's next animated film on the back cover of the Amazon.com Exclusive Blu-Ray edition of Batman: Under the Red Hood.
"First Look: Superman/Batman: Apocalypse - Exclusive Sneak Peak at DC Universe's Next Original Animated Movie"
Recent internet chatter revolves around the assumption the title itself may hint at the debut of either Darkseid or Supergirl. There is no official word from Warner Bros. entertainment which comics story line the movie will follow, if any. This will be the fourth animated film highlighting a Superman and Batman team-up. Speculation as to this latest film's plot will be put to rest come July 27th, 2010, when Batman: Under the Red Hood becomes available for purchase.
DC Entertainment has two animated short films already planned, Jonah Hex and Green Arrow, which will accompany their full length features. There is also a rumored Batman: Year One adaptation in the works.
AMC, now shooting The Walking Dead in Georgia, just revealed the following image and brief press release:
AMC RELEASES THE FIRST PHOTO OF ANDREW LINCOLN AS RICK GRIMES FROM THE SET OF "THE WALKING DEAD"
Robert Kirkman, creator/writer of the comic and executive producer on the series says:
"Writing this book for the past seven years I've gotten very close to the character of Rick. Andrew Lincoln embodies every aspect of the character that fans know and love. After seeing this photo I don't think that there will be a doubt in anyone's mind that he's perfect for the role."
