Opening to Iron Man Anime

Iron Man is a pretty good fit for anime, if you think about it: a brilliant, arrogant playboy billionaire who dons a mechanical suit often to fight other mechanical suited menaces in explosive mechanical battles over glittering cityscapes. Madhouse's "Iron Man" anime is heading to G4 in 2011, but it launches this month in Japan, and the Japanese opening sequence has hit the net, showcasing the show's blend of traditional and CGI animation styles and its distinctly anime twist on the Tony Stark you know and love/hate. Check out the video after the jump.

The opening for the Madhouse produced Iron Man anime adaptation has now surfaced on YouTube. The credits mention Joe Quesada, Stan Lee, Alan Fine, Jeph Loeb and Dan Buckley but do not mention either Takeshi Koike or Warren Ellis, two key staff members that were previously announced to be attached to the project. The Iron Man adaptation by Madhouse is meant to be a reinterpretation of the origin story. Initial reviews have also started to surface expressing immense dissatisfaction with the 3D animation used for the suit rendering and the 2D animation quality along with the character development and design.
