Marvel vs Capcom 3 launch trailer

Capcom and Marvel have released the following announcement about the release of Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds today as well as a launch trailer for the game which you can watch below!

Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, and the legendary Marvel Entertainment, LLC, are proud to announce that Marvel® vs. Capcom ®3: Fate of Two Worlds hits store shelves today in North America for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.

Players will take control of their favorite characters from the Marvel and Capcom worlds in an out-of-this-world fighting game experience unlike anything seen before it. The battle begins when legendary villains of two universes conspire to wreak havoc across space and time, unleashing a terrible evil that threatens the existence of an entire civilization. In a desperate fight to survive, the Marvel and Capcom universes collide in a battle royale that will determine the fate of two worlds.

The greatest fighters from both worlds clash in teams of three, as players create their dream-teams from the Marvel and Capcom rosters. The battle is brought to life in an innovative comic book art style, powered by Capcom's MT Framework®, an advanced version of the graphics engine used for Resident Evil® 5. When the fight goes vertical, fighters launch into the air, exchanging aerial combo attacks in a furious burst of color and light. If the pressure is on, players can call on team members for an "assist" attack that will throw off their opponents, or they can tag out their character for a fresh new warrior. The option for streamlined controls makes the fighter a pleasure to play for all skill levels. For those who seek a challenge, players can take their game online and face-off against opponents around the world.

Popular returning characters include Spider-Man, Ryu, Wolverine, Morrigan, Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, Felicia, Chun-Li, Tron Bonne, Magneto, Storm, Akuma and Doctor Doom. Crimson Viper, Viewtiful Joe and Zero will make their debut in the Marvel vs. Capcom franchise. New characters joining the playable cast for the first time in fighting game history include Taskmaster, Haggar, She-Hulk, Chris Redfield, Thor, Trish, Super-Skrull, Amaterasu, Dormammu, Wesker, X-23, Arthur, Deadpool, Nathan Spencer, M.O.D.O.K. and Dante! facebook it!!!!!

Capcom has announced two new secret characters coming to Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds! Hsien-ko and Sentinel.

Hsien Ko (Lei-Lei in Japan) comes from the Darkstalkers series. She, along with Donovan, takes the role of a "Dark Hunter", in that she hunts darkstalkers. Despite her appearance, she is a human but transformed by a magic spell.

Sentinel is a mutant-hunting robots, therefore, they are usually employed as supervillains or as the tools of other villains. While many are capable of tactical thought, only a handful are self-aware.

Mileena from Mortal Kombat

The upcoming game from NetherRealm Studios is simply titled Mortal Kombat, and will be the ninth installment in the series. The gruesome fighter will see players return to the time period of the first three Mortal Kombat games. Developer Ed Boon had this to say about the overall plot:

...Raiden is about to be killed by Shao Kahn, and just before he delivers the last blow, he [Raiden] sends a mental message to his earlier self, so the camera rewinds back to Mortal Kombat 1. The Raiden from back then gets a message and he doesn't know what's going on, but he knows something bad's going to happen, and the game spans Mortal Kombat 1, 2, and 3, retelling the story with an enlightened Raiden, and he's changing the course of things, so everything you've seen happen before – Liu Kang winning, the guys turning into cybernetic ninjas, are changed around, so you might see a character become cybernetic who wasn't before, and so you see a different version [of events].

The game will include roughly 26 fighters, and feature the classic 2D fighting plane with up-to-date 3D graphics. After watching this I was frightened yet turned on at the same time, check it out for yourself.

Mortal Kombat is scheduled for release on April 19, 2011 for the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles. Facebook check it out here!

100 Copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops stolen from Gamestop

It seems as though some people out there just can't wait for Call of Duty: Black Ops to hit the normal retail channels because over the weekend two gun-wielding criminals held-up a Baltimore area GameStop for more than 100 copies of the highly-anticipated first-person shooter. Black Ops is being developed by Treyarch Studios and published by Activision Blizzard and is scheduled to release on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC tomorrow. The robbery happened just before closing time in the Festival at Bel Air shopping center, as the thief's entered the GameStop and pulled semi-automatic weapons, demanding every copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops that was in stock. It was the second armed robbery of a Harford County GameStop store in less than three weeks; the sheriff's office said the men might also be responsible for the other incident, at the GameStop's Aberdeen location on October 21st.

A few unlucky customers happened to walk in during the hold-up and were placed in the stock room, thankfully no employees or customers were harmed. It's unclear for what reason the crime was perpetrated but we would assume that the thieves are looking to unload a couple thousand dollars worth of the game, before it's official release date. As of this writing no new information on the crime has been discovered and no copies of Black Ops have shown up on the black market, representatives for GameStop declined our request for interview. No word on whether or not customers who had pre-ordered COD: Black Ops at the unlucky store would get their game on launch day, our guess is they will. Stay tuned for our official review of Call of Duty: Black Ops tomorrow and make your own decision as to whether the game is good enough to warrant this type of criminal behavior.
